About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at Ascot Rehabilitation in providing essential speech therapy services to patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech and language therapy covering a range of neurological and complex disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication issues in patients with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions.
  2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, focusing on cognitive rehabilitation, swallowing, and communication impairments.
  3. Provide evidence-based therapy to individuals or groups to help improve their communication skills and overall quality of life.
  4. Regularly monitor and evaluate patient progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  7. Utilize advanced clinical reasoning and analysis skills to provide individualized speech and language treatment and programs, addressing all aspects of communication, cognitive rehabilitation, psychological, and social integration, vocational, and leisure needs, and overall wellbeing of the individual.

Requirements

  1. Experience working with patients with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions, including those with swallowing and communication problems.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  3. An empathetic and patient-centred approach to therapy, prioritizing patient needs and preferences.
  4. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team, promoting collaboration and coordination of care.

Working Arrangements

  • Full-time position

  • Weekend availability
