About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Solicitor to join our rapidly expanding team at Duncan & Toplis. As a Private Client Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of wills, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning files. You will also be expected to provide support to other members of the team and play a key role in business development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents
  • Managing a Caseload of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and Inheritance Tax Planning Files
  • Working on Probate Matters, Including Submitting IHT Paperwork to HMRC and the Probate Registry
  • Communicating with Clients and Third Parties
  • Assisting Paralegals and Secretaries with Queries
  • Meeting with Clients to Provide Advice on Private Client Law
  • Liaising with Colleagues Internally Regarding Client Matters
  • Ensuring Client Work is Progressed in a Timely Manner and Clients are Regularly Informed on Progress and Costs
  • Contributing to Business Development
Requirements
  • Newly Qualified Solicitor
  • Ability to Draft Documentation Accurately with Attention to Detail
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to Act as an Expert in the Field of Private Client Law
  • Ability to Manage Own Workload and Take Responsibility for Own Development
  • Ability to Work with Minimal Supervision
  • Good IT Skills to Operate Office and In-House Programs
  • Ability to Commute to Our Grantham Office
