About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Private Client Solicitor to join our rapidly expanding team at Duncan & Toplis. As a Private Client Solicitor, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of wills, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning files, as well as working on probate matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents
  • Managing a workload of wills, lasting powers of attorney, and inheritance tax planning files
  • Working on probate matters, including submitting IHT paperwork to HMRC and the Probate Registry
  • Communicating with clients and third parties to provide expert advice and guidance
  • Assisting paralegals and secretaries with queries and tasks
  • Meeting with clients to provide advice on Private Client law matters
  • Liaising with colleagues to ensure seamless client service
  • Ensuring client work is progressed in a timely manner and clients are regularly informed on progress and costs
Requirements
  • Newly Qualified Solicitor with a strong understanding of Private Client law
  • Ability to draft documentation accurately with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act as an expert in the field of property and instill confidence in clients
  • Ability to manage own workload and take responsibility for own development
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Good IT skills to operate Office and in-house programs
  • Ability to commute to our Grantham office
