The position entails serving as the deputy section leader and the appointed Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA), Medical Physics Expert (MPE), and Laser Protection Adviser (LPA) for numerous external clients across the region. The successful candidate will operate with considerable independence to ensure that the service commitments are met effectively. Responsibilities include conducting RPA/MPE/LPA audits to evaluate adherence to regulatory standards and contributing significantly to the enhancement of scientific services. Additionally, the role involves delivering training programs to healthcare professionals through scheduled and on-demand courses.
Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulations concerning radiation and laser safety, providing guidance on necessary corrective measures.
  • Serve as deputy section leader, collaborating closely with the section leader to fulfill service obligations.
  • Act as RPA, MPE, and LPA for designated sites under the post holder's responsibility.
  • Oversee all advisory and support services provided for areas and clients for which the post holder is designated as RPA or LPA.
  • Investigate radiation incidents and prepare detailed incident reports for clients, ensuring the accuracy of reports from colleagues.
  • Engage in the development of income-generating services within the organization.
  • Participate actively in scientific research and development efforts aimed at enhancing the safety and application of radiation.
  • Provide expert advice on legislation and guidelines related to radiation protection to clients, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legal requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in a department providing commercial RPA services.
