Domestic Services Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Domestic Services Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the domestic services department at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role will involve supervising a team of domestic staff, ensuring that all areas of the Trust are cleaned to the highest standards, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of domestic staff to ensure that all areas of the Trust are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
- Ensure that all staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties, and that they are aware of and adhere to Trust policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control the usage and storage of cleaning consumables, and requisition additional stocks as required.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all areas of the Trust are clean and safe.
- Report any accidents or defects with machinery or buildings to the appropriate authorities.
- Support the management team in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to domestic services.
- Provide leadership and guidance to subordinate staff, and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
Requirements:
- Experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a healthcare or cleaning services environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide subordinate staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and quality.
- Knowledge of Trust policies and procedures, and a commitment to upholding these standards.
Working Arrangements:
This role will involve working a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Trust and its patients.
