Internal Communications Engagement Officer

Overview

As the Internal Communications Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the communication strategies for our dedicated staff and volunteers who contribute significantly to the preservation of our cherished environments.

In this dynamic and fast-paced position, you will be tasked with the development, management, and execution of effective internal communication platforms, ensuring that essential messages reach our teams in a timely and impactful manner.

Compensation

This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a salary of £26,832.00, with a pro-rata salary of £21,465.60 for a 30-hour work week.

Work Environment

You will be integrated into a collaborative internal communications network that includes our national team and regional consultants. Our team operates cohesively, supporting one another in executing the Trust's strategic objectives. Our values-driven approach is centered on achieving specific goals that define a high-performing internal communications unit.
While many team members are based at our national offices, we also engage in virtual teamwork, connecting with colleagues across the Trust. Your primary work location will be our national offices, with potential for hybrid working arrangements that may include remote work and collaboration at various Trust locations. Some travel may be required for in-person team meetings and to engage with Trust personnel and sites.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to a Senior Internal Communications Manager, you will support the broader Internal Communications team. This role involves balancing the current communication needs of the Trust with the future requirements of our internal audiences. Your focus will be on maintaining existing communication channels while also contributing to projects aimed at enhancing our internal communications.
You will be responsible for editing and publishing content on our intranet, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and brand alignment. This will also involve collaborating with our project team to support the ongoing development of our intranet, including planning implementation and assisting with content migration to SharePoint. Additionally, you will manage end-to-end channel processes and proactively notify the team of approaching deadlines.
Furthermore, you will maintain both digital and print communication channels, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our delivery and effectiveness.
Collaboration with fellow Channels Officers will be essential as you work on a unified planning approach, striving to improve our understanding of audience needs and communication preferences. Building strong professional relationships with various internal clients will be crucial, as you will be part of a network of communicators across the Trust. You will assist clients with their content requirements, providing guidance on best practices for media communication and collaboration.
