We collaborate closely with registered partners, local authorities, and private developers to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient, and sustainable homes for individuals to thrive.


Role Overview
We are seeking candidates with experience in a main contracting environment, particularly in Social Housing refurbishment projects, partnerships, and frameworks.


The primary responsibility is to generate competitive tender pricing for refurbishment projects across various market sectors, supporting the overall business strategy.


Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with United Living's HSE&Q standards, operational processes, company policies, and all legislative requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the Commercial and Business Development Teams, maintaining a clear understanding of the Company's strategy and objectives, including bidding and pricing strategies.
- Assess contract conditions, provide risk advice to all relevant parties, and propose solutions as necessary.
- Plan tenders effectively to ensure timely and accurate preparation of tender documentation and pricing information, resulting in high-quality submissions.
- Identify and escalate risks; understand local government needs and aspirations, including Best Value and the Audit Commission/executive Service Inspection.
- Contribute to effective team collaboration within the broader business, maintaining regular communication with operations and commercial teams.
- Prepare tenders based on architect's drawings, specifications, bill of quantities, and pre-priced schedules of rates provided by the client, detailing materials necessary for contract specifications.
- Identify project risks, develop a risk register to assist in decision-making and cost management, facilitating the calculation of contingency amounts.
- Compile and present statistical data for pricing/bid analysis, interpreting and explaining data.
- Support the assessment and selection of products and offerings from suppliers for inclusion in commercial bid models.
- Manage the tender process to seek and establish project prices from subcontractors, including terms for works to be executed under the contract.
- Evaluate, engage, and negotiate on pricing documents, ensuring accuracy and confirming best value in terms of price and service quality.


Qualifications
- Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with a willingness to expand knowledge of software packages.
- Strong data interrogation skills.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively.
- Flexible approach to meet tender deadlines.
- Solid understanding of building construction and maintenance techniques and materials.
- Good legal and contractual knowledge.
- Valid driving license.
