Job Summary
Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of effective health, safety, and environmental strategies, policies, and practices across all aspects of the organization's operations.
- Collaborate with the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to review and maintain robust health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare and review safety reports, and investigate accidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Lead by example, educate, and train employees on health, safety, and environmental policies to promote a safe working culture.
- Support the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager with submissions to regulatory agencies and conduct workplace audits.
- Order personal protective equipment (PPE) and cover multiple sites as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- An IOSH qualification as a minimum, with NEBOSH or IEMA qualifications highly desirable.
- Experience in delivering training to staff and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
