Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist

Job Summary
Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of effective health, safety, and environmental strategies, policies, and practices across all aspects of the organization's operations.
- Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to review and maintain robust health and safety procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety tours, and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Support the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager in submitting reports to regulatory agencies as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- A strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
- An IOSH qualification as a minimum, with NEBOSH or IEMA qualifications being highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
