The primary objective of the Regional Child Protection Coordinator role is to offer leadership and professional oversight to a team of Regional Child Protection Officers operating across multiple regions in England.

As the Regional Child Protection Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the National Child Protection Team, dedicated to enhancing safeguarding practices within Dioceses and Cathedrals throughout the Church of England.

Your responsibilities will include supervising the Regional Child Protection Officers and assisting them in navigating their multifaceted roles.

You will collaborate across regions to facilitate opportunities for shared resources, cooperative arrangements, and the commissioning of joint services.

Additionally, you will aid in the implementation of the National Child Protection Standards to promote uniformity in practice.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Professional Oversight to the Regional Child Protection Officers.
• Offer guidance and support regarding the interactions between Regional Child Protection Officers and dioceses/cathedrals.
• Monitor the application of tools and frameworks utilized by Regional Child Protection Officers to ensure adherence to the Church of England's National Child Protection Standards.

• Encourage Regional Child Protection Officers to pursue opportunities for collaborative commissioning of specific services, including joint efforts and resource sharing.

Applicants should possess experience in senior management roles related to safeguarding children and/or vulnerable adults at both local and regional levels, including the enhancement of safeguarding capabilities and practices.

Candidates should have current knowledge of research and evidence-based practice models pertinent to safeguarding and the broader social and political landscape.

A professional qualification or equivalent experience relevant to safeguarding at a senior level is required.

The Regional Child Protection Coordinator will be expected to travel extensively across the country to engage with each of the regions.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Compensation includes a salary of £69,486 (comprising a standard rate of £66,186 plus a band addition of £3,300) along with age-related pension contributions ranging from 8-15% of salary.

We will match any pension contributions made up to an additional 3% of your salary.
