Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Manager to join our Family Support and Child Protection Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of social workers and other practitioners in providing high-quality services to vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to the team, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with Sanctuary Personnel Ltd's policies and procedures.
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of local policies and service improvement strategies, ensuring that services are responsive to the needs of children and families.
  • Specialist Knowledge: Provide specialist social work and child protection knowledge and advice to the team, service, and other multi-agency professionals, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support vulnerable children and families.
  • Collaboration and Partnership Working: Liaise, network, influence, and coordinate with other multi-agency partners to provide the best level of multi-disciplinary support to vulnerable children and families.
  • Practice Oversight: Ensure that timely response and action is carried out by the team to any contacts, referrals, allocations, complaints, information requests, child protection enquiries, court directives received, and plans for children.
  • Performance Management: Maintain regular supervision and appraisal of worker performance in the team, ensuring that practice and management oversight are compliant with relevant laws, statutory guidance, and local procedures.
  • Meetings and Reporting: Chair strategy, review, planning, professional, and network meetings as required, ensuring that reports and updates are provided to stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as required to carry out the smooth functioning of the service and to meet our corporate parenting and safeguarding responsibilities to children.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous management or supervisory responsibility of other practitioners working within children and families services, including the Leaving Care service.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Specialist social work and child protection knowledge and skills, including experience within Adult Social Work.
  • Education and Training: Continual professional development and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
