Position Overview

The successful candidate will deliver exceptional front-line administrative assistance to the National Amyloidosis Centre. This role requires close collaboration with nursing staff, medical professionals, and fellow administrative personnel. As a vital member of the Amyloidosis team, the individual will ensure that a seamless, high-quality service is consistently provided to patients, their families, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Administer the reception area, promptly addressing any issues with the Clinical Pathway Manager.
  • Become proficient in the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system and MS Access database to manage patient registrations, bookings, and check-outs.
  • Confirm and update patient details, including names, addresses, GP information, and next of kin.
  • Maintain effective communication with nursing and medical teams to ensure a professional service delivery.
  • Handle telephone inquiries and requests with professionalism and respect.
  • Keep departmental boards updated and manage follow-up clinic appointments as directed by medical staff.
  • Notify patients of urgent appointments and ensure confidentiality in all patient interactions.
  • Act independently while adhering to established processes and protocols, seeking guidance from the Reception Team Leader/Manager when necessary.
  • Ensure data quality by accurately scanning departmental records into the Electronic Document and Records Management (EDRM) system.
