Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated Band 5 nurses to enhance our team on the Acute Medical Ward B6. You will collaborate with the senior nursing staff to advance our service, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Main Responsibilities

You will take charge of assessing nursing needs and developing care programs, as well as implementing and evaluating these initiatives. You will perform all relevant care tasks independently and demonstrate procedures to supervise both qualified and unqualified staff.

Detailed Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES
1. ASSESSOR of Nursing
1.1 Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments through interviews and observations.
1.2 Maintain precise clinical observations of patients' conditions.
1.3 Analyze data to interpret its significance concerning patient progress.
1.4 Identify and discuss nursing issues with patients, families, and colleagues.
2. PLANNER of Nursing
2.1 Determine nursing care priorities for patients.
2.2 Establish realistic goals within care plans.
2.3 Organize time, resources, and personnel to deliver nursing care effectively.
3. PRACTITIONER of Nursing
3.1 Provide skilled care to patients and their families.
3.2 Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring safety and accuracy.
3.3 Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and team members.
3.4 Collaborate with medical and para-medical staff in care delivery.
3.5 Ensure individual patient assessments are conducted to meet their specific needs.
4. EVALUATOR of Nursing
4.1 Contribute to establishing standards for nursing care.
4.2 Assess the quality of care provided to patients.
4.3 Measure goal achievements in collaboration with patients and their families.
5. LEARNER/RESEARCHER of Nursing
5.1 Pursue new knowledge in nursing and health through ongoing education.
5.2 Seek to acquire new skills.
5.3 Apply research findings to enhance nursing practice.
6. TEACHER of Nursing and Health
6.1 Assess the educational needs of patients, families, and staff.
6.2 Instruct patients and staff on nursing practices.
6.3 Demonstrate nursing skills to patients and support staff.

7.1 Evaluate work to be performed.
7.2 Organize staff and resources for effective care delivery.
7.3 Supervise the quality of care provided.

Person Specification ATTAINMENTS Essential Criteria
  • Registered 1st Level or equivalent as verified by the NMC
Desirable Criteria
  • Knowledge of current research relevant to the specialist area.
GENERAL INTELLIGENCE Essential Criteria

  • Competent in numerical tasks.
