Position Overview

The Corporate Governance division is dedicated to promoting exemplary governance practices throughout NHS England, ensuring the organization operates efficiently and effectively within the Chief Delivery Officer directorate.

This division undertakes several essential corporate functions to assist NHS England in making informed decisions and maintaining a robust system of controls and assurances, thereby enabling the organization to fulfill its obligations and commitments. The team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Corporate Group, Executive Risk Group, and the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.

Key Responsibilities

As a Governance Compliance Manager, the individual will collaborate with a proactive team to deliver a high-quality service that aids managers and staff in the organization in upholding and demonstrating the utmost standards of corporate governance.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the formulation of a compliance strategy for NHS England to ensure compliance with organizational controls.
  • Supervising compliance initiatives undertaken by the team in alignment with the NHS England compliance strategy.
  • Overseeing the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts in conjunction with colleagues from the Finance division.
  • Cultivating relationships with business leaders and departmental heads pertinent to compliance efforts.
