Job Overview

Pembroke Suite is a dynamic and growing SACT infusion day unit within Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SACT trained registered nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to delivering an outstanding patient-focused service for patients receiving systemic anti-cancer treatment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the SACT team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Assessing and developing junior staff through mentoring, learning, and appraisals
  • Managing the unit's daily operations, including liaison with pharmacy, scheduling, CNS, and consultant teams
  • Communicating effectively with staff, patients, and families to ensure their views are heard and respected
  • Supporting the senior sister in making decisions and plans for the development of the suite

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • SACT accreditation and experience in oncology/haematology nursing
  • Leadership experience, including managing a team and making decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of governance and quality improvement
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing tasks effectively
