About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our Critical Care and Surgery team as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist. This is a maternity leave cover post and is a one-year fixed term position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the delivery of care on the Heartlands hospital site to critical care and selected surgical areas.
  • Deliver a clinically focused pharmacy service working within a strong specialist team.
  • Support the development of junior pharmacists understanding and treating complex level 2-3 patients.
  • Participate in the development of Cost Improvement Programs (CIP) to support the specialty and department.
  • Contribute to audits and Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to present to the specialty meetings.
Requirements
  • Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification or equivalent advanced practice
  • Willingness to work towards a non-medical prescribing qualification
  • Relevant clinical knowledge in complex clinical pharmacy settings
  • Previous participation in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Commitment to providing high quality pharmaceutical care
  • Experience of teaching/presenting to other healthcare professionals/patients
  • Commitment to own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
