If you aspire to join a driven team that consistently aims to provide exceptional clinical care to women, infants, and their families, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for a highly proficient, motivated, and passionate lead clinical pharmacist to become part of our pharmacy team at Birmingham Women's Hospital. You will oversee the provision of high-quality, proactive, and patient-centered clinical pharmacy services across various specialties within the maternity, gynecology, and neonatal departments, including neonatal intensive care, and will stand in for the principal pharmacist when necessary. Your commitment and expertise will truly make a difference for our patients each day.

We take pride in our dynamic and supportive pharmacy team, which strives to deliver safe, effective, and efficient care to every individual who visits us. We are dedicated to fostering a joyful, collaborative, and empowering work environment where every team member can excel and make a significant impact.

  • Supervise, motivate, and support the team to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Act as a deputy for the Principal Pharmacist as required.
  • Collaborate with the Pharmacy and broader multidisciplinary teams to execute service improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, efficiency, quality, and safety across various clinical areas.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team and financial meetings to improve patient care, safety, and the cost-effective use of medications.
  • Prepare directorate reports addressing finance, medication safety, and governance issues.
  • Support clinical governance processes across divisions, investigate incidents as necessary, and promote medication optimization.
  • Lead audit and educational initiatives.
  • Take charge of guideline and policy development to ensure the safe and effective use of medications in compliance with relevant legislation.
