About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Consultant to join our dynamic team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Respiratory department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Respiratory Medicine, with experience in managing a range of respiratory conditions, including lung cancer, cystic fibrosis, and interstitial lung disease. You will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, with a commitment to continuing medical education and the requirements of clinical governance and audit.

As a Respiratory Medicine Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory conditions
  • Leading clinical teams, including junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Contributing to the development of our services, including service improvement initiatives and clinical governance
  • Participating in teaching and education, including undergraduate and postgraduate training
  • Engaging with patients, families, and carers to provide excellent patient experience
