Job Summary:

Raytheon UK is seeking an experienced Hardware Design Engineer to join our successful Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area. This role involves creating Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Schematic Generation and PCB Design: Design and develop digital electronic systems, including schematic generation and PCB design, ensuring compliance with defense engineering standards.
  • Collaboration and Architecture Development: Work closely with system engineers and embedded software engineers to develop electronic subsystem architectures, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Requirements Development and Compliance: Develop and maintain requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards, including DO254 and APNT systems domain.
  • Design Documentation and Technical Reviews: Generate supporting design documentation and conduct regular technical reviews to ensure high-quality designs and efficient development processes.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience with embedded digital electronics, FPGAs, and microprocessor systems.
  • Proficiency in designing PCBs conforming to defense engineering standards.
  • Clear presentation of technical information and demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Openness to learning new techniques and ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Eligibility for or current SC security clearance.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Xilinx chip family and experience using Mentor Xpedition PCB design tool.
  • Understanding of systems engineering approach across the design and development life cycle.
  • Experience creating DO254 compliant electronic systems and knowledge of APNT systems domain.
