Raytheon UK is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer to contribute to our successful Assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (APNT) team within the Global Sensors Mission Area.

This role focuses on developing cutting-edge Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. You will collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers at Raytheon's Harlow facility, working in a hybrid model that combines both remote and on-site work.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Creating detailed schematics, designing PCBs, carefully selecting and evaluating components, and ensuring their thorough verification.
  • Working closely with system engineers and embedded software engineers to define and refine electronic subsystem architectures.
  • Developing comprehensive requirements that align with industry standards and regulations.
  • Generating clear and concise design documentation and leading regular technical reviews to ensure project progress and quality.

We are looking for candidates who possess:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in embedded digital electronics, including FPGAs and microprocessor systems.
  • Expertise in designing PCBs that meet the rigorous standards of defense engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present technical information effectively and solve complex problems.
  • A strong willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Eligibility for or current possession of a Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with the Xilinx chip family and experience using Mentor Xpedition PCB design tools.
  • A deep understanding of systems engineering principles applied throughout the design and development lifecycle.
  • Experience in creating DO-254 compliant electronic systems and knowledge of APNT systems.
