About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Modelling Engineer to join our team at Raytheon Technologies. As a key member of our Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team, you will play a critical role in the design and development of digital GPS anti-jam systems for the military market.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with system engineers and modellers to design and develop electronic subsystems.
  • Create hardware models and run simulations to validate system performance.
  • Design and develop digital hardware, including schematic creation, PCB design, component selection, evaluation, and verification.
  • Work with embedded software engineers and mechanical engineers to integrate hardware and software components.
  • Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Requirements
  • Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  • Experience with ADC/DAC, memory devices (SRAM, Flash), and FPGAs/SoC technologies.
  • Model-based design creation and simulation using tools such as Matlab/Simulink and SPICE.
  • Understanding of IBIS, SPICE, and other relevant models.
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces and signal technologies (LVDS, JESD).
  • Ability to design for manufacture and present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, with an openness to learn and adapt to new techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively to overcome obstacles and analyse technical data.
  • Eligibility for or current SC security clearance.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Xilinx chip family and Mentor Xpedition PCB design tool.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering approach and DO254 compliant electronic systems.
  • Understanding of VITA interface and environmental requirements (shock, vibration, EMC, etc.).
  • APNT systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar field.
