Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at OCS Group. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol our premises to prevent incidents and ensure the safety of our clients and their customers.
  • Advise tenants on management regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain fire and health and safety regulations, secure the premises, and assist the public and shop mobility as needed.
  • Start your shift promptly at the designated time, dressed in full uniform.
  • Maintain a clean, smart, and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Be responsible for active communication of shift changes to the on-shift supervisor, including handover of shift keys, PDA, and confirmation of staff and contractors on site.
  • Be aware of health and safety procedures and carry out tasks in line with our Health and Safety Policy.
  • Be responsible for full comprehensive understanding of fire alarm procedures and act as an evacuation marshal in the event of a major incident.
  • Assist tenants on request in the event of an incident, and assist police presence on site as needed.
  • Be aware of responsibilities and powers as a member of the security team and know when to hand over to police instruction.
  • Diffuse incidents and situations in the malls, and provide first aid if necessary (for certificated first aiders only).
  • Control room duties, including answering telephone enquiries, monitoring cameras, radio communication, contractor permits, logbooks, and Building Management Systems.
  • On-call duties, scheduled via a rota system and shared equally between those trained.
  • Knowledge of in-house radio usage and call signs.
  • Responsible for ascertaining all daily requirements and site needs by observing on-site information handover procedures.
  • Use patrol monitor (diester) system to assist with accident and incident control and prevention.
  • Maintain check calls as required on night shifts.
  • Follow through any managerial instructions and ensure all work is carried out in a safe, proper, and thorough manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client and staff information.
  • Report anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person.
  • Keep your working area and space clean and tidy at all times.
  • Be familiar with required care standards regulations governing your job.
  • Maintain polite and good communication with colleagues, tenants, and shoppers at all times.
Requirements
  • SIA licence (CCTV & Security Guarding where applicable).
  • Experience of working and building partnerships with clients.
  • IOSH trained desirable.
  • Articulate and able to communicate effectively with clients and IFM teams.
  • Organised individual who can demonstrate a record of planning and managing workflows.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of high-quality service delivery and their impact on this.
  • The ability to be agile and flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role.
  • Excellent time management, organisation, and focus on ability to prioritise and multitask with clear ability to focus on detail.
