Job Overview

Loom Talent Limited is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior General Manager to lead our UK DC operation, focusing on delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to our clients in the 3PL Logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for all operational activities, including warehousing, distribution, strategy, continuous improvement, and projects.
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team of up to 250+ employees through managerial and operational leads as direct reports.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Commercial Responsibility & Budget Management: Develop and manage the operational site budget, ensuring financial objectives are achieved while maintaining service and quality.
  • Performance Metrics: Continuously evaluate and improve organizational performance metrics, ensuring existing and new site standardization.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Innovation: Support the business appetite to drive innovation and adopt new technologies to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Supplier Relationships: Manage UK commercial relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective services.

Requirements

  • A Logistics Distribution & Supply Chain Background - Essential.
  • 8+ Years proven General Management / Head of Department leadership experience across Warehouse & Transport operations within a 3PL / FMCG / Food environment – Essential.
  • Previous budgetary responsibility across large-sized DC operations in excess of +£50m – Essential.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams - Essential.
  • Prior commercial knowledge of the UK logistics and warehousing market - Essential.
  • An individual truly excited by large-scale growth challenges - Essential.
  • Commutable to the Spalding area 5 days per week - Essential.
