Job Overview

We are in search of a Residential Children's Services Deputy Manager to enhance our operations.

Employment Type: Full Time - 39 hours per week

Compensation: Up to £34,068.56 per annum (plus additional sleep-in duties)

Key Responsibilities

The Deputy Manager will assist the registered manager in overseeing the daily operations of the home, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care. This role is pivotal in advocating for the rights of young individuals and providing them with quality support in alignment with the organization's policies and procedures.

Key duties include:

  • Leading a team of care workers, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
  • Contributing to the overarching ethos, values, and objectives of the organization.
  • Maintaining accurate records related to both young individuals and staff, while implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Participating in the recruitment process for new staff, ensuring all necessary checks are conducted.
  • Supporting the registered manager in staff induction, supervision, and appraisal processes.
  • Managing the service budget and financial transactions, ensuring adherence to financial targets.

Required Qualifications

  • Passion for delivering high-quality care and education.
  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Children's and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management or a commitment to obtain this qualification.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding protocols.
  • Familiarity with the needs of vulnerable populations.
  • Possession of a current UK driving license or access to suitable transportation.
