Position Overview

We are excited to present an opportunity to join Framework Housing Association's specialized substance misuse inpatient unit. We are seeking a qualified and experienced individual to fulfill the role of Nursing Specialist within our multidisciplinary team.

This unit serves as a dedicated facility providing individuals from across the UK with access to essential treatment for detoxification and stabilization from alcohol and/or illicit substances. The service is nurse-led and supervised by our Consultant in Addictions Psychiatry.

Key Responsibilities

The Nursing Specialist will be responsible for overseeing shifts, conducting assessments prior to admission, collaborating with referrers and external agencies, and developing tailored care plans that address the specific needs of service users. Additional responsibilities include administering medications, including controlled substances, and monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating treatment plans that encompass recovery-focused group sessions and one-on-one interventions.

This role offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to integrate into a well-established multidisciplinary team and actively contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our services. The position provides avenues for professional growth, with training and development opportunities available. We also offer preceptorships for newly qualified nurses, making this an ideal environment to expand your expertise in both physical and mental health.

Job Responsibilities

The primary focus of this position is to deliver and supervise high-quality nursing care for individuals dealing with substance dependency and complex health issues, in alignment with current evidence-based practices, national guidelines, and Framework policies.

The Nursing Specialist will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team that operates 365 days a year, ensuring the delivery and oversight of high standards in all relevant substance misuse and healthcare interventions.
