About Our Practice
Sherrington Park Medical Practice is a well-established, high-performing medical facility committed to exceptional patient care. We are currently seeking to add a Clinical Nurse Specialist to our nursing team.
Our operational hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 08:00 to 18:30, and Tuesday from 07:00 to 18:30.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting in and executing routine patient care tasks as directed by senior nursing personnel and general practitioners.
- Conducting cytology examinations.
- Providing wound care, ulcer management, and Doppler assessments.
- Performing suture removals.
- Conducting new patient medical assessments and urinalysis.
- Carrying out travel assessments and administering vaccinations.
- Performing electrocardiograms (ECGs).
- Managing asthma care, including peak flow readings and spirometry.
- Executing venepuncture procedures.
- Assisting in hypertension management.
- Conducting ear syringing.
- Administering routine and childhood immunizations.
- Providing chaperoning support and assistance to patients during examinations by other clinicians.
- Aiding general practitioners with minor surgical procedures and coil fittings.
- Requesting pathology tests, such as urine cultures and swabs.
- Demonstrating an interest in diabetes management, coronary heart disease, and contraception.
- Adhering to established clinical protocols and referring to senior nurses or general practitioners as necessary.
- Additional responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and sanitizing equipment utilized by nursing and medical staff.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of nursing and treatment areas.
- Managing the inventory of vaccinations to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Participating in the administrative processes of the practice.
- Maintaining accurate records at all times.
- Reporting potential issues or errors to senior nursing staff.
- Attending and contributing to practice meetings as required.
- Occasionally, conducting home visits may be necessary.
- Performing any other delegated duties relevant to the role.
Qualifications
Required:
- Registered Nurse certification.
