Job Purpose

To lead the day-to-day management, Health and Safety, supervision and coordination of the Leisure Centre and its programmes and associated activities and areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and presentation, both in respect of the facilities, themselves and the staff.
  • Administrative duties relating to the operation of the facility, including the correct recording of all income, sales, attendance and associated records.
  • Miscellaneous duties including reception work, life guarding, cleaning, coaching and instruction as and when required.
  • Supporting training programmes in conjunction with colleagues & Managers.
  • Acting as a key holder and being available for emergency call-out as necessary.
  • Effective management of appropriate budgets in accordance with Leeds City Council's Financial Regulations.
  • Undertaking the accountabilities of the post in accordance with council policies including the Safeguarding of Young People and Vulnerable Adults, Equality and Diversity and Health & Safety policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to use computer systems.
  • Willingness to change shifts when necessary.
  • Acting as a key holder and emergency call out.
  • Understanding and observing Leeds City Council equality and diversity policies.
  • Carrying out all duties having regard to an employee's responsibility under Health and Safety Policies.
  • Willingness to actively participate in training and development activities.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change to assist other services as required commensurate to grade.
  • Participating in appraisal, training, and development activities.
  • Awareness of and compliance with Leeds City Council policies and procedures.
  • Awareness of and support for difference and ensuring equality for all working in an anti-discriminatory manner, upholding, equality & diversity policies of Leeds City Council.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance systems and their application to a leisure environment.
  • Experience of leisure facility management.
  • Experience of working within a Quality Assurance system.
