Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Complex Care Assistant to join our team at Retain Healthcare. As a Complex Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients who require complex care packages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Remain awake and alert throughout the shift to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients.
  • Conduct regular health and welfare checks to identify any potential issues.
  • Support clients with their personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist clients in achieving their desired outcomes, promoting independence and autonomy.
  • Administer medication as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Operate moving and assisting equipment, such as ceiling track hoists and electric wheelchairs, to facilitate client mobility.
  • Encourage clients to participate in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in complex care, preferably in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of spinal injury, autonomic dysreflexia, diabetes, stoma care, and catheter care is desirable, but full training will be provided.
  • GCSE maths and English or equivalent qualifications are required.
  • A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
  • Comfortable working with cats and in environments with smoke.
