We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Officer to join our team at Belmont Recruitment. As a Legal Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused specialist enforcement service within a performance management regime.
Key Responsibilities:- Investigate complaints regarding environmental protection and statutory nuisance, with a focus on noise/acoustics, statutory nuisance, air quality, or contaminated land.
- Carry out appropriate enforcement, respond to complaints, and serve notices as necessary.
- Attend court and other hearings to provide evidence and lead on prosecutions under the council's enforcement policy.
- Support robust project management for the service and ensure compliance with statutory duties and legal requirements.
- Work effectively with key stakeholders, including members, residents, external agencies, business partners, and the private sector.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high level of achievement in meeting statutory duties, attaining legal compliance, and enforcement work through to successful prosecution.
