**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a **Money Laundering Compliance Officer** to join our Regulatory Compliance team as part of our financial services business in Jersey.

As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Jersey office opened its doors in January 2019. We have achieved good growth since with the Maples infrastructure and network supporting us to deliver the best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide alongside our colleagues in legal services.

As part of our Jersey Regulatory Compliance team you will be performing the below listed key duties:

- Be appointed as the MLCO key person for MFSJL and its regulated affiliated member companies;
- Assist the Compliance Officer (“CO”) in ensuring that Maples Fiduciary Services Jersey (“MFSJ”) is at all times duly authorised and compliant to carry out financial services in accordance with the provisions of the rules as set out by the Jersey Financial Services Commission (the “JFSC”) and licenses held by MFSJ;
- Assist the CO in reviewing the Compliance Framework and supporting policies / procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the JFSC and align with the Maples Group compliance standards;
- Provide advice, assistance and guidance to lawyers and employees, including KYC advice and assistance, as required;
- Undertake annual reviews of the policy framework to ensure it is relevant and up to date;
- Support the CO in preparing and keeping the Business Risk Assessment live and up to date;
- Ensure the policy framework is mapped against relevant laws, regulations, and the codes of business;
- Periodically report to the CO and the Board of Directors on regulatory and industry compliance maters, and provide a summary of internal compliance queries and matters for escalation;
- Assist the CO in making sure that relevant reports are submitted in a timely manner to the JFSC;
- Provide horizon scanning to ensure regulatory changes are considered and understood before being implemented by the JFSC;
- Complete other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time by the CO, or other representatives of the Maples Group.

**Requirements**:

- Strong previous relevant experience
- AML & Compliance background
- Strong knowledge of Jersey local regulations and legislations
- Being appointed as the MLCO key person
- Ability to work independently & in a team environment
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Methodical approach, strong attention to detail
- Ability to deliver on tight timescales
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team management skills would be an asset
