Nuclear Safety and Compliance Engineer

Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Nuclear Safety and Compliance Engineer to play a crucial role in the advancement of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station and to facilitate the successful navigation of licensing and regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and upkeep of deterministic safety analysis programs to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
  • Support the execution of hazard identification initiatives and maintain comprehensive records of identified risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into design processes.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and governance standards for all deterministic analysis submissions.
  • Work with various engineering disciplines to identify and rectify any compliance gaps related to safety analysis.
  • Engage with other safety disciplines to conduct thorough safety evaluations.
  • Present findings from deterministic analyses to support regulatory and licensing efforts.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or relevant industry experience.
  • Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
  • Experience utilizing deterministic analysis in the context of Nuclear Power Plant design.
  • Familiarity with Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design and operations, including the creation of safety documentation such as hazard identification reports and fault schedules.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary between £40,000 and £52,000, alongside a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our attractive pension scheme includes 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. Additionally, you will receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, allowing you to tailor a benefits package that meets your individual needs.
