Role Overview
We are seeking a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to play a vital role in the development of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station and assist in navigating the licensing and permitting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the establishment and upkeep of deterministic analysis initiatives to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
- Assist in hazard identification efforts by organizing and leading studies, documenting findings, and compiling hazards into a comprehensive Hazard Log.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate deterministic factors into their design processes.
- Ensure adherence to quality and governance protocols for all deterministic analysis submissions.
- Work alongside engineering disciplines to verify that designs align with deterministic analysis requirements and address any discrepancies.
- Engage with other safety disciplines, including probabilistic safety assessments, to ensure a holistic safety evaluation.
- Present findings from deterministic analyses to support licensing initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or significant relevant industry experience.
- Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary project team.
- Eligible for Security Clearance.
- Experience in applying deterministic analysis to the design of nuclear power facilities.
- Familiarity with PWR plant design and operations, including the creation of documentation for hazard identification and nuclear safety categorization.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £52,000, along with a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our benefits package includes a robust pension scheme with contributions from both employer and employee, as well as a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200 to tailor your package to your needs.
