Job Title: Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer

At AtkinsRéalis, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key partner in the delivery of defence nuclear projects, we provide a full range of project services, including project and programme management, engineering, and assurance.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Nuclear Safety Engineer with strong technical and communication skills to support our clients in managing nuclear safety and ensuring compliance with Licence Conditions and/or Authorisation Condition. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping the nuclear safety case strategy, working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design, undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis, and producing safety reports and other technical documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement safety case strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design and implementation.
  • Conduct safety assessments and safety analysis to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Produce high-quality safety reports and technical documents.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Assist in the production of bids and proposals to aid business growth.
  • Implement and contribute to safety initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domain, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Strong technical and communication skills.
  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail.
  • Motivated and driven to meet delivery/cost targets without compromising quality.
  • Awareness of own technical limitations and ability to seek support when needed.
