Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Safety and Fault Analysis Engineer to play a crucial role in the advancement of the Rolls-Royce SMR Power Station and to facilitate the successful navigation of licensing and permitting procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and upkeep of deterministic analysis programs to guarantee compliance with nuclear safety standards.
- Support the hazard identification initiatives by organizing and leading hazard identification studies, documenting findings, and compiling hazards into the Hazard Log.
- Provide guidance to engineering teams to incorporate deterministic considerations into their design processes.
- Ensure adherence to quality and governance standards for deterministic analysis and related submissions.
- Collaborate with engineering disciplines to confirm that designs align with deterministic analysis requirements and address any discrepancies.
- Engage with other safety disciplines, including probabilistic safety assessment and hazard analysis, as necessary.
- Conduct and present deterministic analysis results to aid in licensing efforts.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or possess significant relevant industry experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a cross-functional project team.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance.
- Experience in applying deterministic analysis to the design of Nuclear Power Plants.
- Familiarity with PWR plant design and operations, including the creation of deterministic analysis documentation such as hazard identification, fault schedules, and nuclear safety categorization.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £40,000 to £52,000, along with a performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%. Our attractive pension scheme includes 12% employer and 6% employee contributions. Additionally, you will receive a flexible benefits allowance of £2,200, allowing you to tailor a benefits package that meets your individual needs.
