About the Role
Pearson is seeking a highly skilled Business Skills Trainer to join our team. As a Business Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality business skills training programs that enhance and develop learners' knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and deliver business skills training programs that are aligned to organizational standards and meet the needs of our learners.
- Deliver training sessions that are interactive, inspiring, and engaging, and are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our learners.
- Create resources to support training programs, including PowerPoint presentations, workbooks, and handouts.
- Utilize technology to support effective and efficient delivery of training programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and suggest improvements where required.
- Provide constructive, professional, and relevant feedback to learners.
- Carry out coaching calls with learners and complete paperwork and administration within agreed timescales.
- Maintain online blogs and ensure learner contribution and regular updates.
- Track and report progress of planned learning and maintain records throughout the learner journey.
- Promptly identify situations requiring periods of absence from the program or potential issues or risks and submit accurate paperwork as required.
- Ensure that learner records are accurately maintained, including records held within MIS systems, e-portfolio, and online learning systems.
- Complete learner visits, either virtual or to other sites and locations, when required or as directed by management.
- Maintain positive relationships with learners, business partners, and all other stakeholders to ensure Pearson retains and gains business.
- Coach and mentor learners to develop positive attitudes towards learning and studying.
- Attend standardization and team meetings as required.
- Identify, complete, and record appropriate annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities that maintain your ability to support the delivery of programs.
- Assist in the support and delivery of other qualifications/programs when required.
- Be flexible over hours of attendance/work, including evenings and weekends, if required.
Requirements
- Hold relevant teaching/training qualifications.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable.
- Excellent communication and IT skills.
- Proven coaching and mentoring skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Able to work under own supervision and on own initiative.
- Qualified trainer/teacher with at least 5 years training and delivery experience within the business skills sector.
- Proven experience of delivering inspirational, informative, and engaging training content.
- Industry competence and experience in a substantive management role.
- Can demonstrate use of technology to support effective and efficient delivery.
- Demonstrate through previous OTLA and/or standardization observations is consistently operating as an outstanding or minimum good trainer.
- Can demonstrate the development of course materials and training resources.
- Excellent written skills to enable detailed feedback and target setting of objectives.
