We are seeking a highly skilled and empathetic Senior Construction Skills Trainer to join our Learning, Training & Employment team at St Mungo's. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness to acquire life skills and develop their employability.

About the Role

As a Senior Construction Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality practical construction skills training to our clients, covering a range of trades including painting and decorating, tiling, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, and basic electrical work at Level 1-Multiskills. You will also manage a small team consisting of another tutor, employment specialist, and a progression coach to ensure seamless client progression and successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging and effective construction skills training programs that cater to the diverse needs of our clients.
  • Lead and manage a team of trainers and support staff to achieve exceptional client outcomes.
  • Foster strong relationships with local hostel managers to build and maintain a robust client base.

Requirements

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual with a passion for vocational training and a commitment to supporting marginalized communities. You will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to engage clients, and a willingness to work across different sites. A person-centered approach and a deep understanding of the importance of client involvement are essential for this role.
