Housing Support Specialist

About the Role:

Housing Support Workers will be working full-time, with a shift pattern of 9-5 Monday to Friday, one Saturday 9-5 every four to five weeks, and 2-10pm shift every four to five weeks. Competitive pay rates of £17.93 (Umbrella) per hour, plus £0.45 per mile for travel between services. Contract length will be 3-months before prospective extension and/or permanence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit each property various times each week, conducting support sessions with service users in line with the appropriate requirements.
  • Support clients in accessing opportunities to claim benefits and housing pathways, as well as sign posting them to local agencies and service providers, in line with their needs.
  • Assist clients in their ability to conduct income management and assist them in their tenancy sustainment through various methods.
  • Support service users in their general housing management, ensuring the properties are maintained to the client standards.
  • Meetings with contractors and assisting in the turnaround of void properties.
  • Provide emotional support and monitor the well-being of clients living within the supported housing services.

Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, with business/commercial insurance for said vehicle.
  • Experience in supporting clients/service-users with complex needs.
  • Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
  • Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes.
  • The ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management.
  • An ENHANCED DBS (on update service) Adults.

Desirables:

  • Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
  • Over 3 years' experience within a relevant position i.e., Support Worker.
  • Understanding of housing law and framework relevant to those with complex needs.
