Financial Support Specialist

Nigel Wright Group is working with a Sunderland based organisation who are seeking a Financial Support Specialist to support their established finance team, initially on a 10 month fixed term contract. This newly created role is a full time position (37.5 hours) and will involve covering Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Income Management, Payroll and other adhoc Finance related duties.

The Role

This is a varied and dynamic Financial Support Specialist role that requires a proactive and enthusiastic approach to support the finance team with processing and systems. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Checking, coding and entering purchase invoices
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Income analysis
  • Calculating and raising sales invoices
  • Assisting the maintenance of the income contracts register
  • Credit control and debt collection
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the supplier contracts register
  • Petty cash and expenses
  • Assisting with monthly payroll processing and payment
  • Credit card and purchasing card processing.
  • Preparation of journals
  • Other adhoc finance duties.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 2 years accounts/ finance experience, be AAT Qualified or have any other related finance qualification, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
