Job Title: Forensic Psychologist

Join Serco Plc as a Forensic Psychologist and contribute to the reintegration of ex-offenders back into society. As a key member of our team, you will help deliver psychological services at HMP Ashfield, including completing psychological assessments, conducting research, and providing staff training.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete psychological assessments, including HCR-20, SARA, WAIS, IPDE, and PCL-R
  • Conduct parole reports and directions
  • Undertake psychological assessments of prisoners and individual work, fostering a safe and rehabilitative environment
  • Manage and supervise forensic psychologists-in-training and programmes staff
  • Conduct research and consult with other prison staff
  • Make decisions regarding suitability of candidates for accredited interventions
  • Provide staff training
  • Ensure all activities adhere to the Code of Conduct of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
Requirements:
  • Minimum: Qualifications in Forensic Psychology, close to completion or already completed Stage 1 of the Qualification in Forensic Psychology and the majority of Stage 2
  • Desirable: Qualified Forensic Psychologist registered with HCPC
  • Knowledge: Psychological theory regarding treatment of violent and sexual offending
  • Additional requirements: Experience in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of psychological assessments, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively with offenders, and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary way
