Bournemouth, Bournemouth, United Kingdom Wessex Water Full time

Are you an enthusiastic individual with strong communication abilities and exceptional organizational skills? Do you possess experience in planning or scheduling? If so, we invite you to explore an opportunity within our Sewer Renovation division as a Waste Management Task Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

As a Waste Management Task Supervisor, you will operate both independently and collaboratively within the Sewer Renovation team to address challenges identified by clients or our internal departments.

Our team handles over 7,000 projects annually and is also engaged in significant project work, which includes intricate sewer repairs, rising main burst detection, manhole infiltration sealing, and event duration monitoring.

Your responsibilities will include providing effective scheduling for our Southern Sewer Renovation teams, coordinating traffic management, securing Streetworks permits, and fulfilling any additional requirements to ensure that operations are executed smoothly.

This role necessitates close collaboration with highway authorities, as well as internal and external stakeholders. You will also liaise closely with the Sewer Rehabilitation and Sewer Solutions teams to implement projects and optimize the use of trenchless technology.

In this position, you will benefit from on-the-job training along with regular coaching and mentoring to ensure you can perform your duties independently.

Qualifications

You will possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable engaging with both clients and colleagues across the organization, whether over the phone, in person, or via email.

Additionally, you should have:

  • experience in meeting key regulatory and performance targets to ensure effective scheduling
  • a basic understanding of Streetworks and working within highway environments (desirable but not mandatory)
  • outstanding organizational and time management skills to handle a range of priorities
  • proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint.

Benefits

• Comprehensive pension contributions up to 20%.

• Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.

• 25 days of annual leave, increasing to 28 with tenure.

• The option to purchase up to 10 additional days of leave and sell up to five each year.

• A healthcare package that allows for reimbursement of healthcare expenses.

• Life insurance coverage of up to eight times your salary.

• A new electric vehicle in exchange for a portion of your gross salary.

• Cashback and discounts from over 3,000 retailers.

• One paid volunteering day each year.

• Enhanced family leave and pay policies.

• An interactive health and wellbeing platform.

• Support from mental health first aiders.

• A £1,000 referral bonus for recommending a candidate.
