In this position, you will oversee the recruitment, evaluation, training, guidance, and support of our foster families.

Key Duties:

  • Offer guidance to foster families, including oversight, participation in reviews, and the development of professional growth plans.
  • Compile reports for approved foster families and assist in their continuous training and development.
  • Engage in case discussions and planning meetings for children in care.
  • Facilitate the matching of children with suitable foster families and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Ensure that foster families adequately meet the needs of the children they care for.
  • Possess a solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of our services and apply therapeutic parenting principles in your practice.
  • Maintain registration with the relevant social work authority.
  • Assist in the recruitment of prospective foster families and conduct necessary assessments.
  • Promote the fostering service within the community and participate in outreach events.
  • Keep your professional knowledge current and adhere to data protection policies.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in child welfare, family placement, and/or child protection.
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic parenting practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • A positive attitude and a good sense of humor.
  • A valid driving license with appropriate insurance coverage.
