OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:

This position is part of the Marketing Effectiveness division at MediaLab Group, where our analytical solutions and modelling proficiency assist a varied clientele in comprehending the genuine impact of their media expenditures. We craft engaging data narratives that drive growth and seamlessly integrate insights into the planning cycle through our advanced technology suite. Reporting to the Marketing Effectiveness Director, you will spearhead modelling initiatives, ensure the quality of deliverables, execute statistical analyses, and incorporate research insights from diverse sources to tackle client challenges. Insights must be communicated effectively and promptly in collaboration with the broader team.

In this role, you will not only support current team members but also enhance their modelling capabilities, while being surrounded by industry experts and buying teams to further develop your own skills as you engage with clients you are truly passionate about.

This tool centralizes and automates the data collection process, allowing our modelling team to concentrate on crafting the narrative and strategy to recommend to clients, rather than the data processing typically associated with these roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee comprehensive Marketing Mix Modelling/econometrics projects, from initial model creation to insights generation and data storytelling.
  • Act as a specialist consultant, collaborating closely with client teams to ensure frameworks are tailored to meet client needs.
  • The Principal Consultant is expected to cultivate deep sector expertise and become the primary resource for a diverse array of clients and client team planners/buyers.
  • Develop client presentation materials in partnership with senior team members.
  • Drive business development and revenue growth within your assigned client portfolio, including identifying new business opportunities, drafting proposals, creating thought leadership content, and participating in pitches.
  • Innovate, enhance, and streamline the automated modelling process, working in tandem with in-house engineering teams to bring your plans to fruition.
  • Serve as an ambassador for MediaLab Group, engaging with both external and internal stakeholders to deliver value and build a strong reputation in the industry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) in delivering media measurement and effectiveness outcomes utilizing Marketing Mix Modelling/econometrics techniques.
  • Proven consulting/client problem-solving experience, with a solid grasp of how measurement frameworks can provide clients with insights that significantly contribute to their business growth.
  • Experience in managing other consultants/data scientists.
  • Strong understanding of advertising, capable of collaborating closely with media planners/buyers and aligning analytical insights with practical applications of results.
  • Proficient in handling and analyzing data, willing to employ a variety of tools and approaches to effectively address client challenges.
  • Experience in project management throughout the delivery phases of applying statistical techniques in a commercial context.
  • Significant background in a marketing, media, or business planning environment.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for media and marketing, driven by new channel mediums and associated measurement challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interpret client requirements and implement commercially relevant analytical insight solutions.
  • A proven history of successfully applying statistical techniques in a commercial setting, with an appreciation for business principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – capable of presenting and clarifying complex information to individuals at all levels.
  • Task-oriented, taking ownership of the necessary steps to meet the ultimate client objectives.
  • Inquisitive yet analytical; able to explore new methodologies or data sources to enhance results.
  • A collaborative team player, eager to contribute and integrate with the existing team and skill sets (consultants, engineers, media planners, buying teams, and other specialists).
  • Open to various toolsets and/or a keen coder, who enjoys engaging with the development side of analytics as needed (SQL, R/Python, AWS/GCP or visual tools).
  • Experience in model automation and/or system integration would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with the charity sector and/or financial services would be beneficial given our client base.
