Project Overview:

Our Mace Consultancy Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Sector aims to make a significant impact in the industry. Since its inception in 2013, the team has expanded in size and scope, with professionals located in various regions, including the UK, Europe, and America, and a broader reach across the globe.

We offer comprehensive consultancy services for some of the most notable and innovative life science projects, including manufacturing facilities for leading market players. We utilize the latest innovations, regional expertise, and global best practices to continuously enhance and advance infrastructure delivery, advising on critical public services and projects of cultural significance; driving growth and delivering some of the world's most technically complex and inspiring programs.

You will have technical knowledge of local health and safety regulations pertinent to the project portfolio. Client-Centric Approach - Fulfilling Our Commitments:

You will assist in cost planning, taking ownership of and presenting cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders. You will facilitate the procurement process, ensuring effective execution of stages including prequalification, inquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation. You will deliver cost management services that achieve key strategic outcomes and KPIs, directly influencing the strategic development of plans. You will provide project quantity surveying and cost management services to a high standard, supporting contract administration, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting, and purchase order management. You will implement an integrated cost management strategy for the project, utilizing contractor reporting and considering project contracting strategies and team structure. You will apply standard work breakdown structure (WBS) principles from the early stages of the project. You will be responsible for resolving escalated issues with contractors. You will manage framework contracts, including annual inflation adjustments, advising on contract strategy, tender preparation, and analysis. You will lead and support the team in developing the project control plan for various initiatives. You will prepare precise cost reports and forecasts according to project requirements on a monthly basis, reviewing inputs from contractors and suppliers. You will review cost reports with project managers and at management levels. You will develop and maintain reports that include cost analysis and forecasts, cash flows, cost variance performance reporting, and trends in contingency and management reserves. You will perform project commercial and financial control functions, including contract administration, invoice review, purchase requisition support, asset registration, and ensuring project compliance with company policies. You will develop and maintain project reports that encompass cost financial analysis and forecasts, cash flows, trends in contingency/management reserves, and project risk assessments affecting schedule and cost.

Creating Opportunities - Empowering Excellence:

You will lead teams, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout all activities. You will actively network, innovate, and seek to understand best practices, utilizing the full depth of knowledge within Mace group, the centers of excellence, and the knowledge hub. You will mentor assistant cost consultants and junior team members to identify and implement opportunities that enhance cost management procedures, templates, and services provided to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Previous experience in a cost consultancy practice in a similar capacity. Essential experience with NEC forms of contract. Expertise in cost planning, budgeting, and estimating. Solid knowledge and capability to advise on contract administration. Familiarity with value engineering and life cycle costing. Strong understanding of industry best practices. Experience in Capex vs. Opex cost analysis and advice.
