- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive Quantity Surveying services from project initiation to completion, both collaboratively and independently.
- Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Provide post-contract Quantity Surveying support.
- Compile data and reports within specified timelines, adhering to the required formats for management and clients.
- Collaborate with other service teams to ensure a cohesive approach to client service delivery.
- Foster client relationships and maintain a high standard of service on a project basis, in partnership with senior management.
- Candidate Requirements:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and clients.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating the confidence to excel in client-facing roles.
- Experience in a professional quantity surveying or cost management consultancy, with a solid track record of delivering high-quality services.
- Possession of a BSc (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (or equivalent) is preferred, or actively pursuing final APC sitting within the next year.
- Experience in at least one of the following sectors is advantageous: Health, Higher or Further Education, Student Accommodation, and Commercial.
- Familiarity with JCT and NEC forms of contract.
- A broad network and understanding of sector and local markets.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the generation of repeat business.
- Knowledge of construction costs and project procurement options.
- Understanding of key commercial issues related to private sector projects.
- Proficient in IT skills, including MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and cost planning software such as CostX/CATO.
- Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to become an integral team member.
- Ability to make informed decisions and work independently when necessary.
- Practical understanding of construction risk and commercial management.
- A valid driving license is desirable.
