Position: Cost Management Specialist

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Cost Management Specialist to join our regulated water teams in the North West. As an integral part of our Cost Management division, you will oversee a variety of projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule and within budget. Your proficiency in planning, estimating, budgeting, and cost control will be essential in driving growth and efficiency in our initiatives.

This role is situated within our Resilience Business Area, which prioritizes the protection of the environment and water resources for future generations. With the escalating effects of climate change, urban development, and biodiversity decline globally, addressing large-scale unexpected events such as floods and wildfires has become increasingly critical. Our mission is to safeguard our natural environment and water resources while promoting sustainable energy solutions.

Arcadis embraces a Hybrid work model, which may include travel to client locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance to stakeholders on contractual and commercial issues as required.
  • Issuing Purchase Orders, Task Orders, and Call Off contracts.
  • Assisting suppliers in delivering precise information for monthly payment requests.
  • Evaluating Applications for Payment.
  • Offering contractual advice on NEC Payment processes and detailed payment certificates.
  • Managing NEC4 Compensation Events.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A degree in quantity surveying or commercial management accredited by the RICS.
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or actively pursuing it.
  • Previous experience in water, infrastructure, civil engineering, or mechanical and electrical projects is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with contract forms such as NEC and expertise in contract drafting and management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and develop professionally.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, cost management, and commercial practices within a consultancy setting.
  • Strong self-management and prioritization skills, capable of working under pressure and meeting project deadlines.
