London, Greater London, United Kingdom Homes England Full time

Position Overview

The Financial Reporting Manager will collaborate closely with our Financial Reporting Senior Managers and Financial Reporting Assistant Accountant, playing a pivotal role in delivering financial reporting and accounting insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

This position entails contributing to the preparation and evaluation of our Annual Report and Financial Statements, monthly budgeting documents, quarterly accounting packages, and Whole of Government Accounts submissions.

The role requires thorough analysis and reconciliation of extensive financial data, necessitating regular interaction with finance colleagues across the organization to identify and address discrepancies.

Working alongside the Financial Reporting Assistant Accountant, this role will provide opportunities to enhance managerial and delegation capabilities.

Additionally, there will be chances to engage in significant projects, including aiding in the development and execution of new financial software systems and processes.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, consistently seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation. As a seasoned finance professional, you will excel in a collaborative, productive, and inclusive team setting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential, with comfort in analyzing large datasets using formulas and pivot tables. A strong desire to gain a comprehensive understanding of the organization’s various software systems, their financial data recording processes, and their interconnections is crucial. Experience in year-end accounts production and auditor liaison is also required.

Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, is necessary. A detailed understanding of IFRS 9 is advantageous due to the importance of financial assets in our Statement of Financial Position.

Resilience and the ability to manage senior-level stakeholders effectively are essential. Establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal delivery teams and the National Audit Office, is vital. You should be capable of prioritizing your workload to ensure timely and quality outputs while being aware of and escalating significant risks.

A recognized professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, or CIMA, is required.
