Senior Claims Handler

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Handler to join our team at Acorn Insurance Ltd. As a Senior Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Fleet and Specialist products in motor claims from start to settlement.
Key Responsibilities:- Validate all claims for indemnity and fraud
- Assess liability and communicate our decision
- Contact claimants or representatives to establish our exposure
- Accurately assess quantum of claims using relevant tools
- Identify opportunities to reduce our overall exposure
- Minimize indemnity spend through commercial decision making
- Proactively manage diaries to monitor and progress cases
- Ensure accurate reserves in line with company guidelines
- Accountable for own performance against set objectives
- Adhere to best practice and key strategies
- Effective file and portfolio management
- Assist with coaching and mentoring of less experienced handlers
- Strong insurance background with working knowledge of indemnity
- Persuasive and confident communicator with relationship management skills
- Ability to use own initiative to explore options and achieve best outcomes
- Motivated self-starter with strong organization skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and in a culture of openness, trust, and respect
- Significant PI and/or credit hire claims experience, commercial market awareness, and working knowledge of Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules & hourly rate costs
- Experience of handling Injury claims outside of the Low Value Personal Injury claims Portal
