Job Title: Senior Technical Claims Handler

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Claims Handler to join our team at Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Limited. As a Senior Technical Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of technically complex claims, providing technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, and handling technical referrals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively manage a caseload of technically complex claims, ensuring they are realistically and accurately reserved in line with best practice.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced claims handlers, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Handle technical referrals, ensuring that claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols, ensuring that claims are handled in accordance with the latest regulations and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including underwriting, risk management, and customer service, to ensure that claims are handled in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in claims handling, with a strong understanding of case law, statute, CPR, and Pre-Action Protocols.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to use a range of software applications, including claims management systems and Microsoft Office.
