Balfour Beatty Vinci presents a remarkable opportunity for a Site Operations Manager with expertise in Heavy Civil Engineering and Structural Projects to become a vital part of our team.


Role Overview:

The primary responsibility is to oversee and manage a designated segment of the project, focusing on specific disciplines such as Reinforced Concrete Structures, Heavy Civil Works, and Excavation activities, while leading a team of Section Engineers and Site Engineers within the same field.


  • Proficient in articulating the requirements of a safe working environment to ensure compliance and adherence.
  • Demonstrates accountability for assigned tasks and communicates results effectively, including the management of team members.
  • Exhibits a strong commitment to work with the flexibility to accommodate irregular hours or night shifts.
  • Capable of working independently and proactively identifying opportunities aligned with the level of responsibility.
  • Prepares correspondence for subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in Civil Engineering, particularly in relevant sectors.
  • Possession of a valid CSCS card.
  • Holds a UK driving license.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Balfour Beatty VINCI is a well-established partnership between two leading firms dedicated to delivering essential infrastructure across rail, transportation, and other significant projects in the UK and beyond.

Our collaboration began over three decades ago with the construction of the Channel Tunnel, as part of the TransManche Link consortium.

In the Midlands, Balfour Beatty VINCI is tasked with the design and construction of the route, preparing it for the installation of tracks and signaling.

Our Engagement with HS2:

Balfour Beatty VINCI has been entrusted with a 90km segment of the HS2 initiative, extending from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the heart of Birmingham and onward to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Across all our sites, we will be constructing:


  • 9.3km of viaducts
  • 62 overbridges
  • 35 cuttings
  • 56 culverts
  • 62 embankments
  • 2 twin bore tunnels and 2 cut and cover tunnels
  • 28 underbridges and 11 underpasses.
