Job Description

Job Title: Groom - Tactical Mounted Unit Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Groom to join our Tactical Mounted Unit team at the Hough End Complex. As a Groom, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and welfare to our horses, ensuring they are fit and ready for operational duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general equestrian service, including grooming, feeding, and exercising horses
  • Carry out stable duties, such as mucking out, maintenance of equipment, and cleaning of the complex
  • Work a 9-week shift pattern, including day and late shifts, with a 14% shift allowance and 14.25% weekend enhancement
  • Have a flexible approach to areas of work according to rostered schedules
  • Hold a BHS Stages 2 or equivalent qualification or practical experience

Requirements:

  • Experience and confidence in handling horses from the ground
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and move equipment
